3. groups

you've heard about cliques a million times. what they forgot to tell you about can be summed up in one word: groups.

there are three groups.
1. the top, aka them. this encompasses her, him, and their cronies, none of whom are particularly friendly to "outsiders." they are mean, but occasionally nice on their own. badly treating girls (even the ones in their pack) and obsessed with sports, some boys take longer to pick out clothes than britney, although they're better covered. the girls are equally snobby and fake smile just to show what a kind heart (cough cough) they have.

2. middling. these are the most normal in the bunch. the middle level encompasses about half of the student body, and is comprised of good and bad kids. some of the girls think they should be at the top, and some probably should be shifted to the bottom. they fall into patterns based on interests and attitude. sadly, the bad seeds get all mixed up in this batch. but all in all, this crowd is, well, middling.

3. the odd ones out. although, there are many. most of the people in this category are slightly (or more than) removed from the world as we know it. the girls who read at lunch while eating beans mixed with rice. the guys who are ahead in class, but behind in social skills.

and then there are the floaters. the students who haven't found a permanent position. they eat lunch with a middling crowd one day, and sit by the girl who doesn't talk the next. usually really nice, these kids just haven't found their nook.

2. the girl

she's at every school, in every grade. that girl. the one who talks about susie to you, and tells susie what you said about her. people say she's got the best clothes, and maybe the best house, but certainly the worst attitude. the boys all like her, and the girls all want to be her. she gets bad grades, so bad grades are cool. rumor is she could murder both golden retrievers, smile, and her parents wouldn't even care.

look a little closer though, and you'll find that her father is upset with the latest report card, susie doesn't believe a word, and her mom canceled the shopping trips because she lost her iphone -- again.
